Fresh Thunderstorm

By Barron Barnett - Posted on 28 June 2010

I was on the phone with my mom and saw a flash out the window. I looked at the weather report, said nothing about thunderstorms and just ignored it. Maybe it was someone's headlights. Then it happened again, at which point I told my mom I'd talk to her later.

Upon getting outside this is what I was greeted with.

I took a couple more pictures in the backyard before I moved front. When I moved to the front yard I caught this.

The storm at this point had started dumping rain. This picture had to be cropped because I used my coat to shield the camera, what I didn't realize is that it had partially gotten in front of the lens. The whole storm blew through really quickly, and I caught this at the tail end.

I hope this is the beginning of many more for this summer, because I love them. Besides, practice just makes me much better at it.
